The Rod Rescue, by EQ Outdoors, is constructed with chromized steel (chromizing is a process where chromium is diffused into the surface for a harder, more corrosion-resistant metal). And because the Rod Rescue is manufactured with chromized steel, which is harder than a standard metal pipe that you might pick up at your local hardware store, it has integral threads rather than welded bolts on the outside, which can break loose when you're cranking the bolts onto a broken tie rod. Then, both edges are chamfered on a lathe with a carbide bit for a clean finish in your hand and your gear bag. Finally, the Rod Rescue is powder coated for additional durability and a professional look.
